LFA Luau

Well, Andy just pulled his Last and Final Alert. He won't be going down in the hole anymore for as long as we all shall live (I hope I'm not eating those words later). To celebrate, Savanna Grace decided we needed a party. That's different than a get-together because we are celebrating (she just learned that everytime we get together with someone it's not necessarily a party!).

So Andy came home today from Juliet (one of his sites), and we threw a lei on him. We also made him wear a grass skirt! This was better, I think, than what he was already wearing. Because it was his last alert, the guys handcuffed him, threw him in the shower and poured pancake batter all over him. Then he had to go outside in the freezing cold. Since we got snow yesterday (yes...I know), it wasn't pleasant. Anyway, Savanna and Kennedy had their own balloon experiences. Savanna put one in each and waved them until the were hitting her in the head. Kennedy kicked them everywhere and threw them at Savanna. (Mom, don't read the next part). Mommy had enough of the balloons after blowing up all ten last night. It also reminded me that I guess I haven't fully healed from surgery. I guess exerting all of that pressure makes blood vessels angry enough to cause pain all the next day. Either way, we're all done with alerts! Yeah!!!!

Good times!

Savanna is so excited for two reasons today. First, she had no cavities at the dentist so her name got put into a drawing for a shirt. We found out last week that she won the shirt, and got her name in the Sunday paper (Minot...not a lot of big news around here). Second, she got this umbrella from a local book store, and we've had more rain than snow lately! Spring is a comin'! Just ask the birds around here. Kennedy hasn't given them a break all week. As soon as she spies a flock, she runs at them waving and screaming, "HI BIRDS!!!" They can't get away fast enough. We also saw a snake in the yard last week. It crossed right between Kennedy and me, with its head upright. I freaked out (calmly), while Kennedy just laughed and pointed as if to say, "He looks like he'd be fun to eat!"

Savanna has finally gotten a chance to ride the bike Santa got her. She's getting so big!! Thursday we rode all around the block and to the park with some friends. It's a Dora bike with a cool bell that tells the Dakrats to get out of the way!!

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus

The girls read "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus." Well, we had to build a bus after that!! You can't see it, but there are two chairs in the bus and four paper plate wheels. Both vroomed and vroomed until Savanna got pulled over by mommy for going too fast!

Here is Kennedy on Easter afternoon. She has changed dresses since the morning dress had stains on it from her first taste of candy. This dress is from Mimi too! Notice that it too already has a stain. We caught her sitting on the table with about 7 jellybeans that she had managed to stuff into her mouth. Who brought the jellybeans?

Savanna had a great time hunting eggs! Dad and Brandon hid some eggs out back (notice no snow), and the kids went crazy. We also put out some cascarones (confetti filled eggs) that they enjoyed cracking over heads. They were joined by Bailey, Braelynn, David, and Dominic in their quest for the most eggs.

Savanna is in a different dress than from the morning (at mommy's insistance). Mimi bought her this, and we are craving spring. This dress definitely shouted spring!

Easter morning

Well, this is a little late in coming, but here are my girls the morning of Easter. Both were excited to attend mass. What's not to love? They get to dress up in pretty dresses and have everyone coo over them! That Jesus thing is important too (hopefully that love will come in time:).

They aren't the best pictures here, but it's really hard to keep these two from wiggling away from a posed shot! Hope everyone had a great Easter as well!
