
So for awhile I've been dabbling in making cakes. A friend of mine got me started with a "dare" of sorts, and I've been on a mellow mission ever since. What I mean by "mellow mission" is that I get serious about it every now and then. This is my 5th or 6th cake, and my less messy kitchen (which is my cake success barometer). I made it for an auction last night; the proceeds are going towards a scholarship fund.
After some fierce auctioneering (is that a word) and battling divas, the cake went for $340.00. It was a "Drunken chocolate cake with espresso and Disorono ganache." All I could think was "I really hope it tasted good!"
